Sinister Cinema Reviews

I’ve been considering doing a second channel where I only cover the big films that get the clicks and putting tons of effort into those videos with editing, music, and what not. Then keeping this channel for the smaller market videos but also posting the bigger movie videos on here as well, unedited and with no music since that is the style you guys are used to. So essentially, nothing would change on this channel, but then there would be a second channel for a mass audience to try to appeal to so that we can try to make this more successful. Because as hard as I try on this channel, I keep covering all of these movies that no one cares about and we get like zero views on them and it absolutely tanks my numbers which hurts any chance of me getting promoted on the videos that others actually care about. That way, I can stop worrying about posting videos on here and just release them since I won’t be worried about my numbers. Thoughts?

It never hurts to try something different that couldn’t benefit you. Best of luck and I’ll definitely check the new channel out if you decide to create it

@JeremiahHolt

Love watching you two review smaller films, so as long as that continues I’ll be happy

Since this channel already has a following, maybe you post the new videos here and start putting the longform unedited ones on the new channel? IDK how the algorithm will like anything anymore. I would suggest for real that the new videos have a distinct border or font or something on the thumbnails so they stand out :-) I hope it all works to your advantage however you decide to proceed!

I think it’s a good idea. You put so much effort into this and you love doing this so you should gain the traction on the new channel. Perhaps once you get the new one to a really good spot you can also bring over a bigger audience to your current channel and hopefully gain more views here as well for the under seen gems

@SyonDOfficial

I’m down for anything you guys do, dude! You’ve always been the best and most consistent channel when it comes to reviewing a vast array of horror, especially indie horror. Been a huge fan of the slasher by year series you did a few years back too. No one gives better recommendations than you!

Go for it. Agree with the other comments, will watch you or both of you. You have opened my eyes to so many movies. I always check out what you guys say before watching a movie. Good luck!

I think Lee from DrumDums does something Similar. So It could work. Dead Meat used to do the same, but he now they moved everything back to Dead Meat's main channel. But you have a loyal following. You guys could talk about coding, and we will watch. Especially when I'm at work. Those long rants get me through the work day. I thought doing the big movies (Nightmare, Texas Chainsaw, Friday, etc.) would be a game-changer for me. They didn't work for me. Granted, I was on a 90-day punishment for having thumbnails being too risque. But it appears people come to me for the lesser known stuff. And I've sort of leaned into that. Even when I do popular movies like Drop, or Death of a Unicorn, they just flop. But if I talk about (hypothetically speaking) "Blind Girls from Outer Space", those titles take off. I look at my numbers and be like, "I just reviewed Freddy Krueger! Why aren't you guys watching? lol" But yeah, I believe in you guys. You're fantastic!

I totally get what you're saying and support you. I personally love your videos and deeper dives and less "popular" movie coverage, but I get that not everyone is into things outside of mainstream. I think you two are both great and such nice people to watch! Best to you both!

I don’t know, man. I appreciate your channel and the hard work you put in. I think your channel has gotten better the last couple years. Maybe you’re overthinking it??? I tend to do that a lot myself. Are you dead set on reaching a specific goal or are you just looking for steady growth? Just my two cents, but I would prefer one channel because I get enough notifications as it is and sometimes they get lost in the mess.

Sounds like a plan! I completely understand wanting to make things more digestible for a wider audience, you've been doing this for so long so I'm sure it's very demoralising to not be getting the success you deserve for it. I'll always love your humble videos! (even if I miss a bunch or I do watch but don't comment) but it would be very interesting to see you guys take the necessary steps to achieve more eyes on your stuff. Someone else said they think you're overthink it, I don't think so, it makes perfect sense that you'd feel that something you and your family put so much effort into deserves more recognition.

Do whatever is best for you, I like the idea, essentially nothing would really change for us, but benefits could be seen for you, so a win win. We'll be here!

Good idea, I hope numbers on "big movies channel" will make you a future yacht owner at least! :D

@onlymoolz

Do it. You have some of the best commentary on horror movies on YouTube Us horror fans will always appreciate your reviews of not as popular movies. It’s nice when I watch a movie and see you already have a review from 3 years ago
