why do characters always end up being half siblings in my favorite books????

in Finale we learn the Tella and Scarlett are half sisters bc Scarletts father is the Fallen Star
in Fearless we learn that Paedyn and Kitt are half siblings (not gonna go into detail bc it's a bit complex..)
in Cruel Prince Madoc is Vivienne's father and Jude and Taryn are wtv his name is' (the dad from the prologue's) daughters
and in AGGGTM lets face it... the dad we know (the one that isn't dead...) is Josh (or wtv his name is) (Pip's little brother) is his child but they share the same mother
