I just purchased the PV55 from both Winsor+Newton and Daniel Smith and I gotta say, they're both stunning in their own right!

I made a beautiful purple using French Ultramarine and Rose of ultramarine. I usually make purple using the warm French ultramarine and cool Permanemt Rose or a cool Quin Msgenta. I found that using the Rose of Ultramarine was easier and faster it’s a really beautiful color.

Hello, everyone. I posted a new video yesterday about color mixing. In the video, I showed a side-by-side comparison of Quinacridone Violet and Violet, but did not also show the Rose of Ultramarine, so here is a snapshot. As you can see the Rose of Ultramarine and Quin. Violet are very similar, with the Rose of Ultram. being slightly more earthy and more granulating. These two could easily be substituted for each other in most applications. If you'd like to see it zoomed in, just use your keyboard shortcut to do so. Happy painting!
