Thanks man, this quiz helped me better understand myself about the fact that I play in the most stupid and non-optimal way possible and I love it.

It's good when i win, and objectively bad design when i lose. Because i am totally a game designer, and not a salty gamer.

Absolutely modern games are too competitive. A game needs a large core audience of casual players to thrive. Classic games like Halo, TF2, and others, had a basis in fun casual modes. Without that core casual playerbase the entire community surrounding your game will be filled with people who you can never please. Once a game’s core audience cares more about winning than they do about having fun, you’ve created a toxic environment where casual fun CANNOT exist. Games like Overwatch and Rainbow6 siege have fallen into an ultra competitive mindset. The playerbase only ever thinks about things like balance patches, meta strategies, and how to bully their own teammates into doing what they think will win them the game. I can tell you for certain, Overwatch and R6S are more “fair and balanced” today than they were on release, but they sure aren’t as fun as they were on release. Balance is important, but not when it comes at the cost of fun, and the destruction of your casual playerbase.

Idk, it's complicated. I like putting my all into a match but I hate when other people absolutely dog pile on me especially in matches where it felt like my team's overall skill is lower than the enemy. For example, in Team Fortress 2 I prefer joining casual server nowadays despite having to deal with random crit bullshit than on community servers with random crit off like Uncletopia, because unlike casual (where you come across competitive players infrequently), Uncletopia players are competitive at all times and have one of the most cracked players you can come across. The only fun you can have is if you are of the same level as everyone else which I can't do as Medic (I get targeted alot more and die at higher frequency) or Pyro (compared to other Pyro in Uncletopia, I'm average at best/below average after I run out of energy) It's funny because whenever I have good streaks in casual servers, I'd always end up queuing up for Uncletopia and realize how dog shit Iam compared to how I was doing before. I just play for a couple round and log off and accept that I'll never that good lol

Competitive is for people who doesnt have a specific life goal to feel like they achieved something. I used to be a full time competitive CS player (ie. I only play comp CS in my free time) and got pretty high on the ranks. But eventually I get less and less free time and I feel like Im wasting my time playing comp and getting nothing in return so I quit and just play casual or coop games with my friends.
