Scout and I met at 13 in the back of a school bus. We would have about 3 stops together, giving us 5 minutes every morning to obsess about music before school.

We really really wanted to start a band together, but had no idea how to convince anyone to join. So for a long time, we just sat in eachother’s bedrooms, playing in obscure guitar tunings and talking about guitar pedals we were gonna buy when we got jobs.

Finally, towards the end of high school, we had our first show. About 30 kids crammed into Egg Records in Newtown on a Sunday afternoon to watch us play 5 original songs and 1 cover of Mac Demarco’s “chamber of reflection”. We barely stayed in time or in tune, but there was a certain kind of buzz that came over us as we were playing, a buzz that we decided to keep chasing.

Breaking our cycle of rotating band members, Adam joined the band a few years later, and it felt like something truly special was beginning to come into fruition.

2025 marks 10 years since we jumped off the school bus, sat in a small inner west bedroom surrounded by soft toys and Radiohead posters, and hit record on our first song.
