The Hollow Knight for sympathetic villains. Poor guy just wanted to do his job

Top Ten Games Where Your Choice ACTUALLY Matters Batman: The Enemy Within breaks the stereotype of Telltale games' decisions not actually mattering. The entire plot of the fifth episode is dependent on your relationship with John, and certain character dynamics can be irreversibly screwed up in the middle of the season.

For Top Ten 2024 Fails: The International Olympic Committee ended their collaboration with Sega and Nintendo and stopped creating the Mario & Sonic games… to instead focus on Esports and NFTs. I’m. Not. Kidding. Edit 2025-09-18: Wow! Thanks for the likes and comments! I never thought this many people took interest in my suggestion.

Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy for games where your choices matter

A lot of Atlus titles but for Player bosses, it's Demi Friend in SMT V and Digital Devil Saga. Unlike Red, this battle feels like fighting another player without online.

Top 10 Fathers in games: any mention of Dragon Quest V. There's the player character's father, Pankraz, who protects you until his dying breath. And YOU, the player themselves gets married and becomes a father to twins who become party members later on. There also wasn't a Dragon Quest entry in top 10 silent protagonists either, a bit strange given the series importance to the rpg genre.

For final levels, two indie games come to mind. The crumbling tower of pizza for pizza tower and the blood-stained sanctuary from cave story are pretty good.

Psychonauts 2's Truheltia Memonstrata for Plant Bosses. You fight giant plants. Based on an old man's bitter memories of his loved ones. Which are all based on different plants that match his view of them now. Also, the man is psychic and specializes in phytokinesis. His own power is working against him. Love to see it.

The New Kid from South Park: The Fractured But Whole in player bosses. Yes they get a new moveset, but it's the moveset you used in the tutorial so it counts. Plus it saves your data from when you first started, and your fighting your old companions in the form of butters and kyle.

Nobodies having hearts the whole time and Xemnas was gaslighting them from Top 10 good Retcons It fixes so many plot holes, had some accidental forshadowing and makes Xemnas, Xigbar and Xehanort way more heinous Also it was criminal for Galaxy 2 to not get even an honorable mention on the top 10 Mario games

Well how about something from your "Top Ten Games Where Your Choice ACTUALLY Matters" in that of the Henry Stickmen games. I mean sure you can click on all of the options to get them. But in the latest game the route you take depends on the routes and endings you take in the previous games. So it kinda counts right?

The main antagonist of Lost Judgment is my shoutout both for sympathetic villains and rivals cause his philosophy clashes with the MC.

Need suggestions for "Top Ten Entries We Missed!" The entry can be from any countdown as long as it follows the rules, but the game HAD to be out by the time the list was made! So, no Ifrit for Fire Bosses because that came out after the list!
