Hello, everyone. I'd like to take a moment to address the current state of my passion project, as I wasn't able to be super specific in the post-credits scene of Now or Never.

As of July 18th, 2025, Captain's Log went into an indefinite production hiatus. No new episodes have been written as of the day this is written, and there are no plans to resume production until early next year.

The release schedule of Captain's Log: Book II was incredibly demanding for both me and the wonderful people responsible for giving the series so much more life. There was a significant shift in how episodes were made, going from Book I'a bi-weekly release pattern with frequent gaps between episodes to a near weekly release pattern that led to episodes being mass-produced in just a couple of days as opposed to the 2+ weeks it took for most of Book I's episodes. As a result, by Book 2B, I had experienced incredibly bad burnout after frequently sacrificing my own health due to a "Let's just get this done and over with" mentality that plagued those final few episodes, ESPECIALLY Now or Never.

I knew I had to step away from the series for a couple of months until I was ready to come back and end it on a note that I can truly be proud of, and that time just hasn't come yet. The original plan was to release Book III sometime this month, but I knew I had to take a break by the time I rendered Now or Never with all the trials and tribulations that finale had brought with it.

Let me be clear, however. Book III IS still happening and a conclusion is coming to Captain's Log. Just not yet. I love this series with all of my heart and I'm so grateful for the audience I've gained because of it. You're the most understanding, kind, and loyal group of people I could ever ask for, and I'm so glad this story that I've been wanting to tell for such a long time now has resonated with you all in the ways it has been. It'd be an insult to leave it on an unsatisfactory note. So please know that this story WILL have an ending. I just need a little more time to get back on the saddle.

Thank you all for understanding, and I'll see you all when the stars come out again!
