Because this is apparently a hot topic right now...Did you enjoy the increased difficulty of normal content (dungeons, trials, normal raids) in Dawntrail?

@providencebreaker1558

What struck me was the added variance to some encounters. Not being able to predict what's about to happen is half the battle in making the game more fun, I think. Valigarmanda's element shifting being completely random added a degree of chaos that we have not seen in the game for quite some time.

I feel like they're should always be the possibility of wiping in normal content as I think after like about 500 hundred hours of gameplay (which what I'm going to assume that it takes that long from ARR to Dawntrail) you should be challenged and kept on your toes.

@BrambleBear

I loved the new stuff in the raids like with the knock ups and hearts, and that the visual tells were so important for the MSQ like with snake guy. But the truth of it is that the fights are just more busy with more of the same, which is good in itself so there isn't as much dead space between mechanics. They are more involved which is something. Some of the newer elements are interesting, and it will keep improving from this point to develop the mechanics more.

@baroquemonster

I like the difficulty but I also understand that msq should be for everyone, no matter how casual you might be. That's why we have extreme, savage and ultimate, if you want a challenge you have one there.

I feel like this happens every expansion. We're all under-geared and don't know every piece of content so well we could do it in our sleep. Let everyone get to 100 with tomestone gear and things will be back to normal

@ktkat7115

I think it should be the new standard at this point

I've been playing DRK for instances with relatively weak gear, and am up to zone 6. So far, it's been a joy to feel like I actually take damage again, though I suspect that will largely dissappear once most players are capped on ilvl in levelling 91-99 content. I like the mechanics a lot, I think the 97 dungeon is my favourite so far as it really kept my on my toes.

They didn’t increase the difficulty, they pushed it back to 2.0 days. All of us from the OG days love it!

For me, no increase compares to Stormblood. That’s the distinct “before and after” point in FF14 to me. The game goes from easy-breezy MMO to “watch the mechanics or die!”

It makes it harder for me to pay attention my adhd gets the better of me. Some things feel like I have no time to react. If I play dps I'm on the floor most of the time as RDM. But when I swapped to GNB could eat a few mechanics but have room for improvement.

I wasn't really used to it, when we wiped 4 times at the last boss of skydeep cenote because of me, i felt my tank pride washing away like sand in the wind.

@velzoya

To be fair I don't think Dawntrail content is a lot harder than Endwalker but I thought EW was already a bit too hard (for me anyway). I do enjoy some difficulty but as a healer main I'm always afraid of going into new content because I end up wiping the group. Part of me wishes that normal content was a bit easier, with maybe an intermediate level between normal and savage. When I start daily roulettes to "chill" after a hard day of work and I get Vanguard, it's difficult. So I admit I'm glad when I get older content because I can just turn my brain off for a while without having to pay attention to everything. I prefer choosing when I want to tackle harder content, for instance I cleared Thordan Unreal and I had a lot of fun although it was really hard for me. Basically, I don't mind higher difficulty in the game but I would like some sort of agency, I guess?

@EAFSQ9

IMO there should be an option for easier boss fights / dungeons that are key to the MSQ, but, you get 50% less XP and gil for lower difficulty. No changes to how much XP required to level up because you already have server wide bonuses (particularly on newer or quiet data centers)(cough cough Materia cough cough) Such a system is already partially in the game as some items are difficulty locked (as it is already with extreme, savage & ultimate trials & dungeons).

@AdmiralMEOW1

I think we should normalise wiping for the first few weeks for ex trials and raids. We're going to only have that for months, let's make it something that actually challenges us for a few weeks at least

@midnightanimal4844

I think it was pretty easy, i had more problems with shadowbringers and endwalker dungeons when it came out

@RintheRaven

It was hard for me and I did die a lot, but it was still fun! This is my first time being current so I don’t know how much harder it actually is, but it felt harder for me. No, I don’t want it to be made easier because I’ll figure it out!

@samyie3279

It’s a good steady curve. The only difficulty increase in main content is the last boss. Everything else should test you! Otherwise game gets super stale.

@Saske2518

The literal only boss that I’ve felt is unfair/unfun is the first boss of the spooky extreme dungeon. Largely more that it’s unfun to be pacified for ten seconds if you happen to mess up than the difficulty itself. Give me that ultimate level damage down instead but at least let me have fun pressing buttons lol

@KurisuHan

The only “Difficult” mech is the hearts in M2. Not because it’s hard but because I’m forced to soak towers no one wants to get and then not being able to mess up once while trying to keep 100% uptime on tank/melee. Really fun tier but the skill issue is showing with the forum copers

@VampireNoblesse

I like it, but for full casuals, there has to be another way to make the content more enjoyable..
