Gary Wright

Several folks have asked about what my live rig looks like, so I wanted to share a rundown of what we currently have set up.

Pedalboard:
Temple Audio Duo 24 with two TRS modules.
TRS L/R Output 1 from Fractal to the power amp
TRS 1/4 midi send/receive for anything requiring physical midi attachment
DI mod lets me capture my DI signal post-wireless and chug pedal (output 2 on chug pedal). I can record my DI to DAW easily with a single cable.
Balanced XLR output from the fractal to FoH via XLR to the IEM XR18 mixer

Fractal Audio FM3 Digital Modeler:
Preset is based on a capture of a REVV Generator 100P MK3
Precision drive pedal with slight input boost in front of the amp
Physical fx loop pre/post amp sim that goes to the pedal board to allow for physical pedals to be used, if desired
CAB IR of my Randall 4x12 8OHM cab, with 2x v30 and 2x Hesu Demon speakers, mic'ed with dual microphones Shure57/Ribbon 120. This is used for my Output 1 to Front Of House / PA
Output 2 has the CAB IR disabled and sends to my power amp

Wireless:
Shure GLXD-16+ with 2x body packs

Tuner / Boost Pedal:
Solar Chug pedal - No boost currently used; however, using multiple outputs to send my clean to the DI output on the pedalboard

Midi controller:
Morningstar MC Pro 6 +
This MIDI controller is primarily used to control my Ableton DAW, which is connected to the IEM rig. It allows for physical control of backtracks, click track starts, and other such actions.

Power Amp:
Is a synergy 5050 in mono 100 Watt

Cabinet:
Randall RS412KHX 4x12 cabinet with 2x v30 8ohm speakers wired in cross parallel (one top corner one opposite bottom corner), 2x Hesu Demon 8ohm with the same position patterning. Running mono allows for all speakers to run 8ohm 100W.

IEM:
This rack has multiple purposes, from providing FoH centralized mix/sends, click track management, full IEM mix for each member, backtrack playback to FoH, Video playback sync, and Lighting control via midi to DMX.

The main IEM mixer is a Midas XR18 digital mixer. This allows 18 input/output, six aux channels, and four programmable FX buses.
Mixing allows all channels to be sent to FoH via cable snake XLRs, either pre-mixed or FRFR, while allowing all IEM buses to be mixed separately.
16-channel XLR pigtail output to FoH cable snake on the backside of the IEM case to keep cabling clean on the front side.
4 Channel IEM output with wireless bodypacks
External wireless will provide better overall connectivity compared to XR18, the older implementation of Wi-Fi. This allows for remote controls to be used via Wi-Fi from MIDI (Morningstar PRO on my pedalboard) to cell phone/laptop /iPad for mixing and soundcheck.
Macbook Pro running Ableton DAW. This is used for setlist management, click tracks, backtracks, and automated BPM sync for each track, sending it back to the XR18 for a centralized MIDI clock. This clock then allows any other MIDI across all pedal boards and effects to be centrally synced. We also have video clip and lighting control syncing via MIDI when needed.
