In a culture nowadays where it seems as though almost every family or animated movie is preachy, cheesy or down-right brain rotting - The Bad Guys 1 and 2 is a very welcome change. I saw the first one in 2022 and was very pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable and strong it was. Happy to report that the sequel is just as good. It has humour, but not annoying. It has very strong and brilliant characters that have emotion and strength; I think Mr Wolf is done incredibly well, with his toughness but also his sincerity and vulnerability, creating a cozy and friendly character. And the story is very good, not cheesy, like a lot of family movies seem to be. With the incorporation of the romantic tension between Wolf and Diane, the tight-knit friendship between the five bad guys, and how the animation portrays facial expressions and body language - it's a very real movie. Loved it!
