I'm an old fashioned cook who makes old style bread stuffing to put in the turkey. I put the giblets in water around the turkey in a black ceramic steel pan. No basting needed. Homemade gravy is mixing flour or cornstarch with cold water and slowly mixing in the juices,water,giblets. Once it thickens and turns brown,strain through sieve and keep giblets to eat. In the old black ceramic steel pan with a lid and putting water in you don't have to baste and it cooks faster than a steel pan. Wash the inside of the turkey salt it and stuff it with homemade bread stuffing. No dry stale bread as it stays dry. Make cubes of bread and diced onions,put poultry seasoning all throughtvit, add melted margarine or butter with water but don't mush. Stuff in turkey cavity and neck that's salted. Make rutabaga which you mash with brown sugar and butter to rid it of bitterness, make broccoli, corn niblets and another vegetable to please everyone. Macaroni and other sides don't belong. They are recent for women. Who font know how to cook. Pilgrims never had pasta. Oh add dinner rolls.
