Navigating the Spectrum

I just spent a few days replying to and “hearting” a bunch of your comments from months ago, which is weird, but let me explain 😅

It’s been bothering me that I have so many comments that I haven’t reacted to in any way, especially the ones that I’ve been meaning to react to. I know it sounds silly, but from the start I decided to reply to every single comment in the order that I received them. At one point, I started getting a lot of comments and couldn’t stay on top of them anymore because of overthinking, procrastination or simply needing more time to reply. I got stuck in a cycle where I couldn’t reply to any new comments before replying to older ones and I felt overwhelmed, so I stopped replying altogether. And I feel really bad about that. It also felt wrong to simply “heart” a comment when it’s a very long and thoughtful one, without properly replying to it.

I know that there are so many creators who don’t reply to comments at all or only reply to a few. I don’t know why I’m always complicating things for myself 🙈 I wish I could reply to all of your comments, of course, but I guess I just have to accept that it’s not realistic.

Anyway, I thought I would reply to some of the older comments that have been on my mind, so I can move on and try to let go of these “rules” that I created for myself. And I thought that telling you about it might help too 😊

I hope that me sharing this doesn’t stop you from commenting on my videos. Please keep commenting when you feel like it, because I genuinely love and look forward to receiving your comments. I read every single one and appreciate them very much ❤️ I will still keep replying to as many as I can, but I’ll try to be less strict with myself about it 🙂

P.S. Whoa, that was like a whole essay 😂 But it honestly felt quite freeing to write this all down. So it’s okay if no one even reads this 😂

I believe once you start posting regularly again, it may very well get to the point where you'll find it impractical to respond to every single comment. Rest assured, however, that most of us won't take it personally, and for the ones who take themselves way too seriously on this issue, there's always the report button. Of course, whether YT actually does anything about that is another subject for another time. (And to be honest, I don't expect you to reply to this one.)
