Absolutely Lisa, this is soooo relatable I honestly had the exact same experience where I would cringe at the sight of some childhood or teen pics. Still till this day I’m working on loving myself fully. This message is so important in our life’s journey. Today, I choose to love myself!! Period!! ❤❤❤

Such a cute pic. Lil Lisa grew up to be pretty badass and I bet those mean girls are now probably watching every one of your episodes to take all the advice they can get. Bless you Lisa! 🙏🏾

You were beautiful as a young girl, you just didn't know how to embrace your. Natural beauty. There was nothing wrong with your looks. Many celebrities and every day people try to change their natural look its ok,but you were beautiful, Barbara Streisand never changed her nose; eventhough many tried to persuade her to do so. I dare say, you can sing and have many talents. Glad you feel better now. You can be an inspiration to many little girls and boys. I imagine you are even more beautiful today; however, it is the inner beauty that shines, so others can see your light, Your children will look like both parents and from your photo, your parents are very attractive. Features change but a blessed heart is always beautiful. PRAYING EVERYTHING HAS BEEN WELL FOR YOU. I HAVE A VERY BEAUTIFUL FAMILY AND WE ARE NOT HOLLYWOOD beautiful, but no one ever changed any of our natural looks, I pray your family told you , you are beautiful ❤

I was 13 years old and I remember creeping into my mums room to tear up a photo she took of me a week before. I had sleepless nights knowing it existed because, after all, it was just MORE concrete evidence of how ugly I was! It was evidence that the "mean girls" in my school were right! I was ridiculed and called concord for how big my nose was. I was mocked for how flat my chest was. They called me Goofy for my buck teeth. So the laaaaaast thing I wanted was for the photo to be lying around!
This was 1992, and I would cry myself to sleep wishing I was different. Wishing I looked and was as pretty as the celebrity models...
Cut to 33 years later (& 20 years of building my confidence), and let me tell you something:
I love my nose. It's mine, it’s bold, and it makes a statement.
I celebrate my small boobs, because let’s be real, no bra in your 40s is an actual superpower 😉
And those buck teeth? Fixed them. But the real fix was how I saw myself.
Confidence isn’t built overnight. But it is built.
And every time you choose self-love over shame, you're laying another brick.
You don’t need to change who you are.
You need to learn to OWN who you are. Fully, loudly, and without apology!!!
