You are awesome and I wish to see more videos from you! You make my Linux experience so much more fun even though I do not do half of the things you explain because for me Fedora just works, but it is fun as I am a linux enthusiast. Also, you have awesome hobbies and are generally very cool person.

Don't you worry, even if you decide to include those midrolls to make it drop in a better placement I'll still adore you.

Quality vids, to the point no bs knowledge, and integrity. Terrible for youtube. High octane trash and ads are what the people want.

Even with lots of ads I would still watch your content but I use Brave and the ads never seem to run anyway.

I've seen other channels mention this as well. Seems they're "opting in" everyone to more ads.

Jeff Geerling mentioned the same is happening to his videos, too. It’s YouTube being YouTube.

I had no particular problem with YouTube adds, then about five or six years ago they started to get stupid. It was only at that point I started using an adblocker.

Veronica Explains
Hi folks! I've had a few folks mention that they're seeing mid-roll ads in my videos. Friendly reminder that I've never once opted in to mid-roll ads, so if you're seeing one, I didn't place it there.
YouTube is "optimizing" their ad placement system, and while I've opted out as much as possible, I am worried that YouTube will, one way or another, disregard this setting.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: my channel is funded primarily by Patrons and Ko-Fi supporters and not YouTube ad revenue. The revenue share has decreased as I've made more videos, and while I can respect that YouTube needs to keep the lights on, I am very intentional about *not* breaking up videos just to cram more ads inside. I don't fault others for doing it, but it's not my style.
I offer all of the videos ad-free without a paywall as well, over on TinkerBetter.tube/, a PeerTube site I self-host. You can subscribe to it via RSS or through most ActivityPub clients. Livestreams aren't on PeerTube yet but I'm working on that as well.
Thanks all!
