Honestly im the same way - which is a double edge sword at work: i can be very effective at keeping busy and doing everything that keeps me busy, however unless i do the action myself i forget everything a person says(unless its their favorite animal apparently.. or if i like them...). But even if you do have it, i wouldn't make it part of yourself, its like cursing yourself not to try harder - its why i never got checked, because either way i wouldn't change anything about myself, nor how i describe myself. So... in other words dont rely on it, instead try to prove yourself you're above it, or chose to not let it hold you back. (I literally got back from a horrible day at work, or at least the end was draining and made me cry - im fine though..)

Some people probably think “No you can’t possibly have adhd!!” Or “No you don’t have adhd it’s only a self-diagnosis”. Even my stepmom once said “I don’t think you have adhd, because you can focus on a book for so long with alot of paitence” 😭 WELL TAKE THIS;
I’ve lost 3 pairs of EarPods in the last year (and only found 1 of the EarPods to one of the pairs. Yep, that’s right, a singular EarPods), I misplace my pencil ALL THE TIME (even jsut after I put it somewhere), I need to have a list and rely on that to be able to pack or else I’ll forget something (I needed a list from my mom on my first day of basketball AND forgot my inhaler bc it wasn’t on the list, and I’m omw to my first practice, other 2 times were evaluations, and I still used the list), during morning meeting last year I ALWAYS forgot what I was planning on saying once it got to me, I’m rlly hyperactive (I play with my fingers, can’t sit still unless I’m reading, and even when I’m reading I do 20 different positions, I lean back and forth and side to side when I’m sitting without even noticing, and I have a lot of energy even in the middle of the night), I relate perfectly to all the adhd standards/symptoms, I misplace my phone a lot, I forget EVERYTHING even right after someone tells me (my parents blame it on my electronics but all parents do so wtv), i tap my feet and bounce my leg and swing my legs all the time, I have those small moments where my mind blanks out and I can’t remember or do anything, I always do stuff like homework and assignments at the last minute and I’m VERY EASILY DISTRACTED (I have the attention span of a squirrel).
