And then in the film it just feels like a long weekend lol

I remember seeing this as a kid. Gandalf runs back in like, “FRODO! IS IT SAFE?” And I thought, “ I would hope so. It’s been a week or something.”

I'm more worried than excited.... seems like corporate greed

I'm excited since it's Andy Serkis who worked under Peter Jackson the entire Hobbit, but still I prefer not too get my hopes up (RoP in a nutshell) . Better to be pleasantly surprised than disgusted.

Nope. I don't trust modern Hollywood to do anything correctly. I don't trust them to do remakes, I don't trust them to do reboots, I don't trust them to do sequels or spinoffs. Just because the source material is good does not mean all of the spinoffs will be good.

I'm not. They've rinsed the LOTR idea until it's pips squeak and it is now done. Plenty of other fantasy books out there to turn into movies...

There was the fan-made film from ages ago. Would be fun to see some of those actors get cameos. :D

I’m not hyped at all. Lord of the rings is my most cherished story and I’m sick of seeing it being ruined.

It's literally covered in two paragraphs in Fellowship. It does not need to be two whole movies.

Hype is extinct...the sci-fi productions of the past 10 years have killed such a thing. Hollywood, Disney, etc... have all ruined themselves. No trust anymore.

All long standing franchises have been milked to near death by the greedy hands of US capitalism. I will wait for reviews.

Well, they could make an adaptation for beren and luthien and children of húrin. I don't understand why they keep milking lord of the rings.

How about we all collectively don’t see this movie. I don’t know who asked for a gollum movie but that’s like asking for a C-3PO Star Wars movie. Give us Silmarilion or just say ‘it’s been a blast folks’ and stop butchering the greatest stories ever told.

No. Should have done that 20 years ago with Viggo Mortensen. Now it's too late.

I’m excited to see it! I’m also thinking Orlando is going to be one of the returning actors, since Legolas is the one who tells the Council of Elrond how Gollum escaped during a sudden orc attack while the Mirkwood elves were taking him on his daily walk. We know they were keeping him prisoner after he was captured, so it only makes sense that our favorite elf-prince will make at least a small appearance in the film.

I'm not hyped at all. If it doesn't turn out as bad as The Rings of Power I will consider it a win.
