I was a mormon missionary too! Would be good to have a game and chat one day.

Thanks for using elastic! So many of the historical costubers act like everything including undergarments must always be completely accurate, but accessibility is important too. Arthritis is a pretty big reason not to have buttons everywhere, and some petticoat skirt combos rely on thin ties that can be incredibly difficult too. I once had to make modern short stays with shoelace front laces because normal bras were impossible to struggle closed even with the spin around method. Fingers are complicated little machines that love to go on strike

Good thing you said new Antioch proxy. Per trench crusade the Americas was never discovered. No united states, no Joseph smith, no the garden of eden is in Jackson County mo.

The irony of making a game called Trench Crusade and putting a Mormon in it.

Isn't Trench Crusade as a concept extremely spiteful toward Christianity in general? There's a whole lot of rhetoric against it from the current owners, especually rhetoric that equates it with the demon faction in terms of morality, and the opening lines of the setting backstory are just "the Crusaders were EVIL, right? And they did EVIL THINGS, right?"

Freaking gorgeous, my man! I could also see a miniature of two male “elders” (soldiers) that are chained together. The chains are fused into them and is a nod to missionaries going in pairs and being required to always be with their companion

Interesting design, looks one of the guys has a shirt and tie. LoL. I'm also a member of the LDS church and have been watching since the 'jog-and-blog' and 'walk-and-talk' days when your guys' faith was first brought up. I'm curious where you and matt served your missions? I went to the Philippines.

MiniWarGaming
Dave wanted to make some miniatures based on his real life experience as a missionary. It was deeply cathartic for him to come up with the concept, sketch out the design, and draw this character. One of the best things he loves about Trench Crusade is how it has opened up discourse on things normally considered taboo to discuss over the tabletop. He’s learned so much from various wargamers and the variety of faith backgrounds by involving himself in this game. He has massive appreciation for the creators of TC for this.
The miniature:
- It’s 32mm
- hard plastic on sprue
- is compatible to play in games of Trench Crusade
- proxy for New Antioch’s Trench Cleric.
- sculpted by Thieu Duong
- painted by Ted Bergen
Availability:
- preorder on Wargames Atlantic’s website here:
www.miniwargaming.com/trench
- “Made on Both Sides of the Pond” - for the US market in the USA and for the rest of the world in the UK.
Character Lore:
High Priests are servants of the lord that hold power that can officiate in scared temples. They lead prayers of the faithful over altars where sacrifices are made. It is not uncommon for High Priests to act as mouthpieces for god and stand as symbols of deeper devotion. Their primary calling is to ‘encourage’ the Trench Missionaries to preach the word and deliver souls from hell. Some say the highest order of heaven is governed by High Priests. Their primary function is to instil obedience with exactness as they fight alongside the Deacons and Bishops in the trenches.
