The quest and lore drops were great, but honestly what stood out the most for me was that they keep on improving character gestures and interactions. Hu Tao pouting, holding Yunjin's hand and her cuddle with Xiangling were nicely animated for example. I was gone from Genshin shortly after Fontaine's AQ concluded and I was positively surprised by them trying to make their conversations more lively.

I thought the quest was great, though I felt the Natlan archon quest allegory (Hu Tao as Mavuika and Traveler as Capitano) was a bit hamfisted since we played it literally 3 weeks ago, it would have worked better as foreshadowing like in the summer events than "hey guys remember less than a month ago?" although I can understand that there will be a theme of sacrifice to solve these problems since Ningguang said how connected they are. That said, I hope it doesn't stick because they will clearly just find a way around it every time so not to kill a playable character which could get very repetitive. Either way, this quest was great and I liked it a lot more than the first half of this patch.

Happy Lantern Rite!
Finished the story quest last night and really enjoyed it -
-Spoilers-
There was a lot of lore dropped too huh, didn't expect Ning to mention that the problems with the ley lines could be due to what happened in Natlan. Seems like we'll start seeing the repercussions in Inazuma with Chiyo appearing and it'd be a good excuse for us to visit other nations we haven't been to in a while (mainly Mondstadt).
The Celadon Mare from Moonlit Bamboo Forest was another I didn't expect so maybe we'll get to learn more about her soon too, could even tie-in to the ancient powers that are used in Nod-Krai as she seems to be from the really ancient past.
Oh and the fisherman Jiangxue at Wangshu Inn! I'd forgotten about him until this quest, I wonder if he's the Yunlai Angler in disguise. He did say he had a vision and threw it away so I wonder if that's a cover story for his powers or if he felt insulted by receiving one since he's so ancient.
The Hu Tao story with meeting her grandfather and dad was beautiful too, as someone that was really close with my grandfather those kinds of stories always manage to hit me pretty hard.
What did you think of this years Lantern Rite and what's coming up? I'm pretty excited to find out more about Chiyo and hope we get a cutscene of her facing off against Ei, though with Ei chopping off one of her arms and horns, maybe it'll be a bit too graphic to depict in detail.
