You always have to weigh what someone says in relation to who says it. Being called names by nobodies isn't relevant, they're like drunk people throwing jabs in a bar. They're not at you for what you are, they come from within them. Political statements tend to flatten out reason and invoke tribal instincts, and people dissatisfied with their life with nothing better to do will lash back at you. It's just noise. The people that care about your channel are and will always be here to see what you have to say. Keep going strong :)

I don’t care about your politics, as you’ve formed them through your life experience, and your videos aren’t political. I do appreciate your detailed, helpful videos on a number of topics. That is what I appreciate about your channel.

Every one of those is a reflection of the poster. Your last video was awesome, and congratulations again on your growing family! I think you're a great dad.

I watched that vid, and i noticed that some comments were very hostile, which was puzzling to me. What you explained was just how i imagine government IT projects. I work in IT myself, in europe. I've had colleagues who have work for governmental agencies. They say it's hell, and you should never work there. A lot of poilitics, a lot of incompetence, departments not talking to each other, or actively sabotaging the other department's work, not much getting done, ridiculous processes, etc. Everyone know that how government jobs are.

I wouldn't take it personally. A lot of us still supporting the public sector are currently experiencing similar things to what you described. It's gotten a lot better as a whole, but still needs a lot of work.

I found the video super informative and entertaining. Don't let the haters stop you from creating the content you want to share.

Audits are good and great. Having someone who receives billions in federal funding oversee the auditing processes is rife with conflicts of interest. Gutting the Federal government and its funding will do little in the way of improving efficiency. There are already people who have been laid off and are having to be onboarded again in the middle of employment. That sort of redundancy is not exactly what I would call efficient. Some foreign billionaire oligarch being appointed to oversee how our tax dollars are spent is a slap in the face to our democracy, its constitution, and our system of checks and balances.

The truth is like poison to many. Keep being honest and more will support you than not.

Thanks for sharing your story. Sad the messenger always gets "shot" . Those people with vile comments are losers and part of the problem hopefully purged from the govnt. Keep up the good work.

The idea of increased transparency and efficiency is great, definitely something which is needed in government; hell in all large old (> 30y) organizations with substantial information architecture. What "DOGE" is doing? Is absolutely not it. Musk's 'transparency' is finding things that he wildly misunderstands in such a way that fits his narratives, and his 'efficiency' is ripping out all obstacles to his personal interest. He is absolutely a fascist. So I'm sorry, but if you're saying "maybe let DOGE cook", and DOGE is being ran by a fascist.... Connect the dots.

How anyone could oppose transparency and accountability from our government is beyond me.

As someone who currently works in IT in a local government agency, I can confirm that the inherent waste is very real. Wasted time, wasted money, wasted potential, wasted opportunities, etc etc. Those that are commenting negatively are likely the ones working in government agencies in higher up positions, and are in fact the very people responsible for all of the waste. That, or they are so delusional that they don't believe the government could possibly do anything wrong.

You can’t be certain the critical accounts are actual people. Does YouTube have an api which provides access to comments and the history of commenting users? Would be useful to know how long an account has been in existence, for example.

People can be ridiculous. Being on the Internet you'll always get hate. Keep doing what you're doing and try to ignore the crazies out there.

You made yourself sound aligned with the current regime. The current regime is hurting more and more people, simply because they can.

I've been watching every video you post for years including your recent explanation for not uploading for a while. YouTube didn't recommend your new video at all, I only found this post by looking through all community posts then your channel. Quite interesting given I also follow US politics pretty closely

Engineer Man
The amount of vile and disgusting comments on my latest video is truly unacceptable. I made a video detailing the facts around an inefficient and wasteful previous development position I had in government. For the apparent crime of suggesting an ongoing audit continue on similar instances of waste, I have been called:
- a fascist
- a fascist apologist
- an endorser of fascism
- a nazi bootlicker
- a neo-nazi
- a braindead maggot
- a person responsible for murder
- a gullible and naive person
- a bad father
It's impossible to reason with this kind of extremism and so I'm better off not bothering. For those who have stayed civil and just listened to the story with an open mind, thank you. For those who posted comments similar to the above, you are pathetic human beings. Please go outside, get some fresh air, take a walk, touch some grass, have a couple sessions of self-reflection, and finally, unsubscribe from the channel and never come back. You are not the kind of people I'm interested in sharing my knowledge with anyway nor are you even deserving of such knowledge.
