I went to SA 2 years ago, primarily to see Boer War battlefields, Modder river is on the way to Kimberley. We saw Graspan and Belmont, this battle site the Boer lay in trenches before the river, my tour guide thought the battle a draw. We did go to Magersfontein (the best preserved battle field in SA) which followed Modder , a decisive Boer Victory.
