Not quite rock and roll, but in the 90's you could get these video game magazines with an exclusive demo CD inside. I remember my parents saved up a whole year to get us a playstation, but we couldn't afford the games for it. Getting that magazine and playing the demos was the highlight of the month for 10 year old me <3

Seventeen, YM, and Cosmo Girl were my favorites. I still have a bunch of my old ones in plastic sleeves along with some Teen Vogue, Cosmo, Elle and some hair magazines my sister wanted to toss

Def Rolling Stone, but growing up in California it was all about GQ for style. Im sort of a geek so I loved reading the great articles in Vanity Fair 😅

Oh my gosh yes! I was a magazine collector for years well into adulthood. In my teens where I live it was TV Hits, Smash Hits, Dolly Magazine. Then I moved onto the Soap magazines that came out fortnightly with all the latest news on the Daytime Soap opera shows like Days Of Our lives and the Young and The restless. Everyone loved coming to my house to borrow the copies or read them 😂 I miss all these magazines. They don’t make much anymore unfortunately. Thanks so much for the share Casey. 😀💜

What a fun memory to share with us❤ I didn’t know Tina turner was considered a rock artist! Not super versed in older music so this is fun to learn!

In the early 80s it was Star Hits and the original British version, Smash Hits - it's where I first heard of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and my favorite writer was Neil Tennant, who went on to form the Pet Shop Boys...whose music I immediately loved. And ~of course~ Rolling Stone! I was really music obsessed as a teen.

When I was a teen in the 80s it was Young Miss and Seventeen magazines. I loved the September, back to school editions. They were double the usual size and focused on hair, makeup and clothes for the new fall trends. For a moment, I was young again, laying on my stomach, on my bed with my feet up in the air, with my stereo on, chewing gum and devouring a new issue of a magazine.

In the 90s, magazines were life! As a teen, at certain points, I would save up money to buy subscriptions to publications like Teen Magazine and Young & Modern, but perhaps my favorite magazine of all was Rolling Stone! I was a music obsessed kid, particularly interested in female fronted acts. When this 30th anniversary addition of Rolling Stone "Women Of Rock" came out November 13th, 1997, it was like my holy grail! The cover features Courtney Love, Tina Turner and Madonna! ❤️ It sat on a music stand in my bedroom all 4 years I was in high school. I can't say for sure what happened to my original copy, but I just bought a replacement on ebay and it's bringing up so much wonderful nostalgia! I gotta find a new spot for it!
What was your favorite magazine growing up?
