There has been quite an interesting and cool trend of franchises releasing official cookbooks for their fictional worlds. I even got the official Avatar cookbook myself!

Food and Worldbuilding has been something I've been thinking about for a while, especially since I've started watching Tasting History with Max Miller. I even started writing out the history of coffee in my world and its importance to the imperial powers of my world.

A great Foodbuilding analysis is AltSwiftX and Glidus’s breakdown of A Song Of Ice And Fire

I don’t know when my books will be translated into English and when it’ll be available in New Zealand, but I think you’ll like the foods and drinks I wrote there whenever you’ll be able to read them.

Meanwhile me, absolutely disinterested in food unless hungry - oh, yeah, sure, I'd sooner worldbuild literally anything else. Coming up with food ideas is a chore for me, and cooking is a boring torture. Avoid if only possible.

I haven't been watching anime for long time but I always found Japanese glorification on food and cooking as sweet. Like, in HunterxHunter there's a whole episode where the soon-to-be hunters were tested on cooking ability. In Black Clovers, there's character that her power revolving on food and cooking. It's nice, but is there a cultural explanation to it?😂

Just wanna say before the video is up that when it comes to food immersion, I LOVE it in literature. Tamora Pierce does an excellent job of using food to build the culture and people of her books. Avatar also does an excellent job, especially the books!
