I could use your wisdom if you have any about my situation. We bought a Samsung slide-in electric flat top range 2 years ago knowing we would be renovating the kitchen soon (this spring). We got notice a few months ago that there is a recall on the range knobs which we were not surprised about. They easily push and turn on when we lean on them. There have been multiple house fires including pet deaths. Samsung's solution is one of two choices. To order, for free, clear plastic knob covers that you have to pinch to turn stove on or hard plastic black "knob locks" with four prongs that you slide over the top of knob that have to be removed and replaced each time of use. Both solutions are very inconvenient and look hideous! I didn't invest almost $800 for a range to look awful & be inconvenient for years to come. I want a replacement range. I contacted Lowe's who sent me to warranty dept who told me to call Samsung. I just got a notice that they refuse to replace my range. My next step is to go back to Lowe's, reminding them of their signs posted in their appliance section "Costumer Satisfaction Guaranteed", hoping there will be a resolution, although I'm not confident they will honor it. Do you have any suggestions of how else I might be able to approach this?
