The fat electrician does a great job of keeping history and war entertainment with some comedy added in.

The Rest is History. I download and listen when working in the garden or cleaning kennels. They are the best when I’m making historical themed Tarot Cards. Series on French Revolution really was wonderful.

Story Crow is a really good one. He’s a folk storyteller with really good fireside style storytelling. He focuses on Celtic myths of the British Isles mostly. Strongly recommend!!

Can I recommend you to you? All seriousness most of the YTbers doing historical or story-based videos are very serious as you've said, you being a breath of fresh air, even if I still watch them, I can't help but watch your videos as you bring... Flair, is the best word for it. Je ne si quois... Most of YT history is information based videos just relaying facts whereas you TELL THE STORY. I would recommend "Fern" though, in terms of important stories in more recent modern history, that channel is top tier. They are more information heavy but it's told in very engaging ways. I'll big you up one more time, watching your videos feels like that one mate who always tells banger stories that both teach you things and get you laughing. You have a unique style and soothing voice (pause)

Jon Solo gives a fresh take on mythology, I’m a regular viewer of Mysteries of Mythology, and I could watch Curiosity Archive for days.

My favorite Historian is Dan Jones. to me he is like the Anthony Bourdain of British history and writes great books as well. His British Castle series on Netflix made him popular in the states. His Bloody Crown War of the Roses videos are a good watch. Actually all his stuff on here is good.

When I was traveling abroad I found Mr History's channel pretty useful and informative. That channel offers pretty detail explanations of various countries in short and sweet time frames.

Dime Store Adventures and A Few Bad Men and The House of Lechemere are the ones I like to watch. House of Lechemere is mostly about Jack The Ripper case but he gets into other cases too.

Probably not really what you're asking for but Contrapoints and PhilosophyTube and Hbomberguy all have wonderful content. I really love The Rest is History but that probably gives those uni flashbacks you are trying to avoid.

The Why Files and Fat Files are the first two that immediately come to mind. Super long form stuff would be Dan Carlin's Hardcore History.

Hey everybody: What are other good storytelling YouTube channels?
I genuinely just want some good channels that I can watch while eating. I find that most channels on 'serious' topics are.... so boring. Obviously I love my history and mythology, but I don't need University flashbacks every time I'm trying to Youtube & Chill with my food.
So... currently I default to DC/Marvel, superhero or 40k channels because they're just more fun, but I'd love to watch and further educate myself on history & mythology, contemporary issues, society and politics while also being entertained.
Obviously Overly Sarcastic Productions is topping my history & mythology list, as is Jon Stewart for the contemporary and political, but.... give me some more.... I want to know all of YouTube's storytellers that you're into.
P.S.: The Vegetable Wars are just getting started... you have no idea.
