I’m convinced that when we tell lies, that it hurts us the most. I found this out at the beginning of this year. The build up to this revelation was the overwhelming feeling of confusion and the huge disparity between what I wanted or what I declared to be the case and what was. More than that, the clear fact that I had very little self respect/integrity. What was the cause? I discovered that what world says about fake it until you make it & hustle hustle hustle only encourages this kind of behaviour. I fell prey to this as anyone would who lies. If you lie to others you most certainly lie to yourself & justify forever why this happened or why this didn’t happen causing you to live in a world full of vague ambiguity. Thus it hurts you the most, don’t get me wrong it really hurts others, but I believe like myself that due to the self deception you’re engaging in you’re unaware just how much it is hurting others. I didn’t really know any other way and to be honest I was underdeveloped in this area of my life. Everyday we look out into the world & based on our vision, we make life decisions every day, and if you’ve got a bad track record, like myself you’ve probably lied. Find out where you lied repent & live truthfully. Whether you know it or not your life depends on it! Whenever I find myself loosing conviction in life or whenever I feel unenthusiastic I think where did I lie? Usually I discover that I lied to myself somewhere along the way in the spirit of laziness saying “it doesn’t matter” when if fact it does matter. I’m getting better and better at being self regulating in this area & now when I know I don’t lie & I do what I say the byproduct is huge levels of self respect & integrity. Do you have low self respect? Do you have little to no integrity? Do you lie to yourself? It really matters, I know the difference of my life internally and externally since this change & I’m an advocate for it. Some people invest their time and effort in the stock market, I recommend investing in honestly and truth telling.
