I am a 59 year old male …. and I still do not have the courage/confidence/strength to defend my own interests. Thank you Lisa, for this post - hopefully many people will watch this, learn from its wisdom and make the appropriate adjustments so that their lives improve and are more fulfilling. 🙏🏼

Preservation of self care... knowing what you are OK with and not OK with... definitely a key to success in life, living, heartfelt joy 😊

It happens to me rn at 30... I was a mild ppl pleaser and my depression forced me to focus inwards unapologetically... I started speaking for myself after years of social anxiety. I find out people react viciously for my actual self. My therapist used to explain my lived experience to me and tone policing me! I am starting to see all of my interactions till this point was me tolerating discomfort for safety.

Stop apologizing for what you want (and what you don’t want) and start owning it!! 💪🏻❤️
