Why didn't you just use the PC version instead of buying another console and having to compromise on the capture?

Honestly wondering - why not just going with the PC version, which gives you the most creative and directive control over recorded and played footage? with mods like Visualfix you can restore the creative visuals to their peak and intentional design, 4K+ recording resolution for the most amount of flexibility in post and of quality, and proper distance, fog and luminance rendering. I happen to be in the middle of a GTA IV playthrough with it and its the very best the game has ever looked and felt.

This just reminded me how good this game is from a story perspective. I recently replayed it a few months ago since I wanted to "get refreshed" on the HD Universe before the new oke comes out. I really wish they would have kept closer to this tone if I'm honest but not mad at what GTA V did. I just like 4 more.

My brother, my girlfriend and I JUST bought a used 360 at GameStop for $80 2 nights ago. You did not HAVE to buy a series X

Will there be a video on the Dwayne Forge vs Playboy X subplot? Loved that storyline. Probably my favorite part of the game honestly.

Are you ever going to reupload your last of us playthroughs for your patrons 🤔

Love the videos, but spamming us with your patron and “coming soon to the patient wolf” got incredibly tiring after the 5th time. I understand that’s how you make the videos but telling your audience once or twice is fine

DIRECTOR’S NOTES – The Story of GTA IV
So the dust has settled on the video’s release and I thought I’d give you a bit of behind the curtain stuff to chew on.
This was an expensive video to make. Not because the game costs much but because I only had a PS5 so I had to buy an Xbox Series X and the old 360 copy just to record it. Crazy that Rockstar still haven’t remastered this for modern systems though the rumours keep swirling. The capture quality wasn’t quite what I wanted which is a shame.
This is also the only game I’ve covered so far where I went in mostly blind. I hadn’t played it since 2008 so I’d forgotten a lot. What really struck me this time was the vibe of Liberty City. Gritty, grey, properly down to earth compared to the entries before it.
The story itself is more straightforward than most but also maybe the most powerful. Niko’s guilt and betrayal sits quieter than Trevor’s in GTA V. It’s more subtle. A subtle weight rather than a raging fire. His drive to protect Roman is a more prominent motivations and I’d say his backstory is the most compelling of any GTA protagonist so far.
That said Rockstar’s way of handling his betrayers was a bit clumsy. Antagonists come and go which made it tricky to capture cleanly. Personally I prefer a story where the main villain is front and centre all the way through. GTA IV doesn’t quite give you that.
The romance with Kate was my proudest bit to script and cut. The way it builds to Niko’s commitment and then the aftermath is one of the most powerful moments in the whole game. I was determined to do it justice in the video and I think I did.
Next up I’ll be heading into the DLCs with Gay Tony being my personal favourite. Honestly one of Rockstar’s best stories. I’ve got 9 more GTA IV stories planned and I’d also like to cover the random characters because some of those are brilliant little slices of Liberty life.
Would love to hear what stood out to you in the video. Comment below and I’ll get back to as many as I can.
