Ai vs in game screenshot for thumbnails.
Not going to lie, I spent ages feeding info data and screenshots and working on prompts. If your interested i uploaded a screenshot of a bloom landscape and say this is bloom a planet in star citizen. I did this for lots of things. So when it came to prompting, it knew a lot about star citizen. And the sort of angles etc I like. Eventually I got something I thought was captivating and represented the video without it being clickbait. Uploaded the video and lots of requests not to use ai.
I’ve changed it now but I’m still impressed with what it gave me. It’s a shame but at the same time I get it. Lesson learned - Authenticity > Visuals.

@Jezzy95

It’s certainly cool what the AI can pick up on But visually the in game shots look wayyy nicer

@leinirtoo

You have an eye for a good screenshot, and I came here for you, not for slop. Thank you for taking the time to make use of that eye :)

Point is we want to connect with a real image of SC

@JuMoraf

Your thumbnail is rad but I think for a game so esoteric and hypothetical as Star Citizen, in game screenshots are the most compelling.

@DuckysFX

You can use some ai upscale to take the game screenshots and give them more realistic details! Magnific ai could churn out some extra detail/relight

Generative AI had, and still has with proper regulations and protections, potential to be an amazing tool. It's just a shame it is being pushed by some of the least creative people ever as a way to increase their profit margins at the expense of actual artists.

Although screenshots at the moment are nicer, having the idea in is apart of your authenticity in the first place. Humans have always thrown their hands up thinking its black and white when industries progress, the industrial revolution, gas to electric cars, coal to nuclear. People have always thought just because something in any industry is changing it negates you from doing things in your own method...ai or not. I still think you should do whatever YOU want to do. I subscribed to Olli not the winging luddites that try to opiniate him into submission.

Good work, but yeah, SC is way more beautiful than ai is capable of right now. Speaks to how great this game is.

@QuakerParrot

yeah i’d also agree in saying i would prefer you to use in game screenshots or material used within the video you uploaded vs AI art. while it may generate some good content, using AI in this sense comes off as tacky and lazy especially when trying to portray what’s happening in a video from a thumbnail

@KerboOnYT

I'm probably in the minority but I've unsubscribed from channels over AI thumbnails. Show me the game please and thank you.

Your third photo of the mech with the vibrant yellow ground and blue sky is box art good.

@tallll70

We are nowhere near accomplishing any ai although 14th gen Intel can seem like it in comparison to 90s calculator chip... even my questions online redefined by words get simply ignored resulting in the same answers, it's pretty pathetic actually... sorry I know it's my personal opinion and I'm just ranting while pictures are so nice

@thomasmuller8118

Disagree. Visuals are more important There are concept arts like this, YTbers regularily use

@rainyjay8672

It’s insane that anyone would think that ai generated images would look better or comparable to the actual in game screenshots. Stop trying to cut corners with ai. If you want to continue to be successful on this platform, you have to put in effort. Please don’t fall into the AI trap. Nobody likes ai “art”.
