If you want some defences, make a wall around your colony - preferably out of stone, or anything that isn't wood or steel. If you leave parts open, you can funnel enemies who come by land into certain areas - creating tunnels filled with traps they'll be forced to trigger. Mini turrets are alright for supporting a defence, but not solo-ing. In terms of money, the "easiest" way is to sell drugs - plant psychoid leaves and get psychite refining + a drug lab, then mass produce flake. It makes the most money compared to the rest of the drugs. You can also just let raids come and sell whatever you get, just make sure you strip the gear before an enemy dies so its usable without mood debuffs for wearing dead clothing. If you have the Ideology DLC (or don't mind your colonists feeling sad about butchering people), you can set it so that humans are counted as creatures when butchering, allowing you to sell human meat and leather. Colonists won't like it unless your ideology is accepting of cannibalism (or your colonists have the cannibal trait), but it's good money still. Be careful of storms btw - if one sets your house on fire it'll quickly give your colonists heatstroke.

Making lots of money in RimWorld by now depends on your morality. You can be a normal person with a normal business and turn raw resources into a product to sell, selling dusters for example; you have to hunt which gives your colony food and trains your shooters, turning leather into dusters to train crafters and then selling it to bulk traders or nearby settlements for the money. Or, as a much more efficient alternative with massive returns, you can just imprison all raiders and harvest one lung, kidney and heart and then sell it, selling drugs is also extremely effective, specially flake, and both of these major terrorism train crucial skills (medicine & plants). As for defense, i don't play CE so i can't be the one to explain, but learning enemy pathing can save you from a lot of BS like center drop pod raids, there are detailed guides here on YT.

In case if you are using combat extended, combat vehicles with combat extended is bonkers. Just an armored car can get through lots of threats. You can just rush the enemies and shoot them while you kite with vehicles. Even without combat extended they are powerfull.

Try getting a kill box, fighting them out into the open gives alot of cover for them, but in kill boxes you'll be able to gun them down before they could prepare a shot. As well trap hallways, traps may look underwhelming but they pack a punch as in needed only two to kill, and one to heavily mutilate Do them both and your set for the mid game but you'll have to get ready since the higher your wealth is, the stronger the raids become, so have a plan before you invest in money

I do not play the game nor watch anything on it, but if there are suspicious people with guns, or strange creatures with sharp teeth, you should probably not go near them <3

Tactical Guy
Heres the new run yesterday, I AM DOING WELL.
Manage to survive mechanoids, raids, and ancient danger + got good stuff from it. Finally made a truck and plan on adding granite walls on the wood walls so it doubles. Im currently worried about the next up coming raids n I gotta increase the defense budget, currently doing research on turrets and I think i can plan on making like another wall, "A Great Wall", so they could like go to an area to be funneled to have the turrets and the new mg i plan on adding soon.
Got any tips on defense? Money? and stuff?
