It is a reminder to stay vigilant in the word of GOD. Colossians 2:17 forshadowing of things to come but the reality is MESSIAH. Praise the LORD! Thank you for your encouraging message!

my favorite things are seeming contradictions in the Bible... it's God being totally transparent and telling us to try harder, reach further and study to actually understand what He's sharing instead of skimming the surface

💯We don’t need to clean Scripture up to make it palatable. Sometimes it confronts us—sometimes it confounds us—but it never needs our apology

Taking the whole counsel of the Word of God is difficult but necessary. It is obedience to the One we claim is our Lord.

When you have a bugaboo with any scripture it’s an opportunity for a gift of learning from the Lord. I have had it happen many times.

The Bible is the book of the knowledge of both good and evil; It is where we find the most holy and most profane things written and it reveals that Satan was created by God. If we don't see the HOLINESS and GOOD it is because we are struggling with perceiving it over and above the evil that is pretty obvious to anyone with spiritual discernment.

{even to pagan countries} Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Isahiah 60:12 “For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.” Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Isahiah 59 20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: {By the finished work of the Cross. Collosians 1 22 Hebrews 9 12 Hebrews 6 17 -20 Hebrews 7 -25 kjv Zechariah 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.

Some of us “wrestled” with Yahweh commanding acts of genocide in numerous OT passages. We weren’t seeking to disobey God in any way. But we’ve finally learned from the 19th and 20th Centuries that genocide is a recurring evil in human history, where land grabs and mass killings are justified in the minds of the aggressors, and always for religious and racial reasons. Bingo. I’m not “apologizing” for evil, no matter where I find it.

Many people believe in deathbed confession, and you're instantly saved even though they've lived a life distant from God! They'll say you can confess on your deathbed just like the thief on the cross and you'll be saved. They also point to this event and say he did not know Him. Yet scripture tells us something different. The thief knew 4 things: Jesus's name Jesus is innocent Jesus has a kingdom Jesus could save him. So you see, the thief knew Jesus, BUT the most important part was Jesus knew him! Matt 7:21-23 These people prophecied, drove out demons, and did miracles. So they knew Him but... they were denied entry to His kingdom .... Why? Verse 23 explains why!! If you don't believe it when Jesus says they're lawbreakers .... then you've got huge problems! God said the law is the same for all people .... foreigners and native born!

I have a serious question and I believe someone can answer this for me because I am wrestling with this part of the scripture regarding slavery because it seemed cruel to even allow this to be in scripture. You can read the entire passage in Exodus 21 “These are the laws you are to set before them: Hebrew Servants 20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property. What are your thoughts on this? How would Christian’s handle slavery if it happened today? We are free, no longer a Gentile nor Jew. No racial superiority, just believers in Christ.

If you ever feel the need to apologize for certain parts of the Bible, that’s a red flag. We all wrestle with difficult passages at times, but when we find ourselves feeling ashamed of what Scripture says, it’s an opportunity for a heart check.
Ask yourself: Why am I struggling to accept this truth? Do I need to study this passage in more depth to get a better understanding of why it teaches what it does?
This tension often arises around topics like gender roles, hell, judgment, or sexuality—areas where cultural values clash with biblical teaching. But if we feel the urge to soften or excuse what Scripture says, we have to confront a deeper question:
🔹 Do I believe I’m more compassionate or loving than Jesus?
If the answer is yes, that’s a dangerous mindset—one that can lead us away from truth and into deception. God’s Word isn’t something we need to defend or revise. It’s something we need to trust, even when it challenges us.
