A pretty accurate description of TotK

@elizaripper

I’m just happy to see a thriving Hyrule and a Link and Zelda who get to enjoy their success. Even with Ganondorf returning, Hyrule is still surviving and thriving again and you still have friends around by the end of it (at least, you haven’t lost anyone directly except Mineru.) You so rarely get to see the immediate payoff of what Link and Zelda do. It’s not the best Zelda but it’s nice to see a success of theirs that hasn’t been completely undone yet. It’s, to steal a term from Overly Sarcastic, a narrative cake, it’s fun and enjoyable to play immensely but it’s empty of plot depth. Sorry that was so long.

If Nintendo haven't decided to canceled their DLC plans and put a companion story with a playable Princess Zelda, it would of help make Tears of the Kingdom better. Personally I wanted to explore more of her journey in Hyrule's distant past, learned more about the Zonai race, make the Ansicent Sages more fleshed out, and provided more in depth to Ganondorf's character of who he is before he becomes the Demon King.
