I bet nobody saw this coming right?! 👀 👀

The first $1000 dollar LEGO set is here, the new LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star, packing over 9000 pieces, 38 minifigures and is a display piece that combines most of the scenes that took place on the location you'll surely recognise.

I'm really not into LEGO Star Wars these days and the most excited I've been about a new release from the theme, has been the Christmas AT AT, and this one! Unpopular opinion perhaps, but I honestly think it's kinda cool.

I will not be reviewing this one anytime soon so yeah, I'll just watch from the sidelines for now and see what you all have to say about it!

@AchromaZero

"Cool, but with a ridiculous price" just feels like the standard at Lego right now.

Ah, the Death Slice.

@TheKayasto

the death star is an over priced minifig display case with maybe a couple fun Easter eggs. nothing more. I do hope folks find enjoyment out of it though. that gingerbread atat is a must buy for that Vader fig! amd I dont have much in the way of Christmas decor so the atat will make a lovely center piece on my dinner table 😆

It’s not the Death Star, it’s Darth Vader’s Doll House

Lego these days is fucking insane. Not even half a death star for 1000 bucks😂

@Chardan001

I really don't know what they were thinking here, but they must be confident it'll perform.

@MrJr1976

The Titanic is $680 with the same piece count. Are you genuinely willing to tell me a set is worth 50% more money simply because it says "Star Wars"? Maybe $850 but $1k is too much

@OkayYaraman

The old one was a complete sphere with more scenes at half the price. This is just a $1000 collection of 10 dioramas that stack to look like a big gray salami slice.

@Robinson_Crusoe

I agree with Tiago, this is a cool 600 dollar set indeed - if you don't miss out in the gift with purchase, which got ripped straight out of it.

I understand the hate behind the shape but this is defintley a great set. Althought the price yes is very high, take in consideration of the pure size of it, the piece count 9,000 pieces and 38 minifigs. Even if you still hate the price and shape, this set is truly nostalgic for big star wars fans who grew up watching star wars and buying everything star wars.

@hypnoticfred

The Gingerbread AT-AT is so much of what I love about Lego in a single set, so I’ll definitely be picking it up at some point

@hamsterproductionsofficial

I agree, I think it's really cool and probably looks very impressive in person.

Maybe they will do the other sections in the years to come 😂

@ComicBoy750

My disappointment in this set is that they treated it as both a giant set for adults but also as just a giant playset with just playset quality minifigures, not UCS quality minifigures. It’s trying to be both at the same time & it fails at both of them. For $1,000 they should’ve gone all out on the details with these minifigures. I for one will just be buying the Hot Tub Stormtrooper on BrickLink once it hits a “reasonable price” & that’s it.

I love it! The sphere was hard to display. This is awesome!!

@TRD-FRS

Honestly, if I was a Star Wars guy, I’d actually kind of like it. The “shell” from a few years ago would just look weird, having a fully enclosed sphere would just be a grey sphere. Here you get a slice of all the action. Tons of figs, lots of details, massive. The only thing that I’d feel is debatable would be price, but we always debate that

They will bring out a DEATH STAR 2 next year, it will be the other half and you join them together....lol

@robin2thek

If I had space for it and it was 50% off I would buy it. I like it

With the new marketing strategy in naming this would be an emperor’s death wheel
