So here are my thoughts on the situation. NFL teams will put up with pretty much anything for a starter they see as a difference maker. You can see this transcend race with sexual misconduct allegations such as Deshaun Watson and Ben Roethlisberger. However, teams won’t put up with much for backups. For example, Stetson Bennett. Dude won two natties and had substance abuse problems that caused unnecessary distractions to the Rams. I think Shadeur falls into that camp. I think that Shadeur is a good quarterback, better than most quarterbacks taken before him except for Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart. I don’t think that he’s ready to be an NFL starter. Therefore, the extra distractions and drama that comes with him isn’t necessarily worth it for a guy who’s not gonna start. I think most NFL offices and staffs see the constant media circus that’s been going on at Colorado for the past two years and decided it’s not worth it for a back up. Additionally, I think the racism angle is kind of odd seeing as the first overall pick was a black quarterback and Jalen Milroe was also selected. Ultimately, he was good but not a generational talent and most teams don’t want to put up with unnecessary drama from someone who isn’t generational talent. But I’d love to hear everyone else’s thoughts and opinions as well.

The real burning question is, how long it will take Stephen A to piss off Deion.

Buck Breaking. It’s modern day buck breaking that is happening on national television.

I don't know a single thing about football, but I saw someone talking about who I now assume to be him. They said the NFL has no problem giving hundred million dollar contracts to actual predators and abusers, but one black guy is just a bit too cocky and outspoken and suddenly he's a huge problem

His talent isn’t worth the baggage

It’s funny he goes to the Browns remember Baker Mayfield was just cocky as Shedur but went #1, hard not to think race isn’t a factor. But than again maybe teams didn’t want to deal with a cocky Deion on top of it all

As a Giants fan who wanted him (not at 3 tho, we had to get Carter) and was hoping we got him over Dart when we traded back to pick 25, I think it’s cause his talent and ability isn’t enough to overlook his attitude and approach to things and there are more valuable players that teams would want to pick up. Like reports have been coming in that he’d sandbag interviews with teams that he didn’t want to get drafted by and even for the Giants the interview didn’t go well with Daboll who is ya know the HEAD COACH.

Shedeur was definitely overhyped, but on the same note, he is also over-hated. Would he have been drafted already if Deion didn't gas him as a coach and a father? I'm going to say no. He was a four year starter between two schools, and that's a lot of tape and experience that many QBs dont have going into a draft. He does benefit from coach Prime in that way. If you look at his 24/7 recruiting profile, it shows offers from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Michigan, Florida St. and Georgia. Yet he originally chose to commit to FAU, which plays in the AAC conference. Then he commits to play for his father at Jackson State. This just shows me he didn't want to compete for QB1 at the bigger programs he wanted to handed to him. My point is having Deion Sanders as his coach is a gift and a curse. Yes, he got to show out for 4 years, but again, he became overhyped and is now over-hated. If he didn't play for Deion, we would be having a completely different conversation about Shedeur. It would either be he didn't have enough tape because he didn't play that much at a bigger program or he played lesser competition in the AAC conference for four years and his overall talent would still be in question. Neither option would support him having a high draft position in this year's draft.

More than likely interviews exposed massive character concerns.

according to insiders, he was basically being a brat during the interviews, doing entitled nepobaby things. He’s not crazy talented and doesn’t have a high ceiling. And also, nobody wants to take demands from him, have the media pressure of playing him, and ON TOP OF EVERYTHING, have his dad criticize the team on twitter everyday.

ig you could argue he’s not a first rounder but round five pick 144 GOTTA be political cause wtf

@Girlyjock0119

I heard the interviews were pretty bad. I think his dad did a disservice to him in how he prepared him for this moment. Even Dion, as Primetime, was well-liked and respected by his teammates, coaches, and peers (despite his loud personality). SS is the same loud personality without the comparable skills or leadership abilities. Add in the fact that he has ONLY been coached by his father (unusual for pros)....and the teams have no reason to believe that SS will mature out of it. I played softball in college and my dad was my pitching coach growing up. I could NEVER IMAGINE my father as my head coach in college. I have absolutely NO ISSUE WITH THE NEPOTISM....but sometimes it can handicap you mentally and skill-wise. IMO, that's what happened here.

Ok, one anonymous long time coach has been quoted by ESPN that Sanders interview in the combine was the worst interview he'd ever been a part of, he was entitled and just not that good as a player, other anonymous executives said he wasn't ready for a real locker room, saying that they didn't give a shit who your dad is if your gonna be an entitled prick about it when yoi can't back it up with skill, and he just didn't listen to coaches, he did what he wanted and it costed him in the combine, ALSO trump came out and endorsed him and I don't blame any team from wanting to separate themselves from Trump

@Carlosww11

Look, I heard the interviews weren't good and that teams had him lower on their charts because they have an issue with his playstyle and level of competition. Even with all that, we are gonna sit here and say Anthony Richardson still got a first, and he didn't? This is blackballing over something deeper than personality. No way it isn't

@juice.global

Simply bc they wanna humble his Father & him by proxy.. Ppl saying dumb stuff like the media attention when everybody knows that THAT attention = revenue, and this is a business.. Don’t think they like the Player power shift in NCAA.. It’s definitely not about talent, bc he’s proved to be a Guy, a difference maker and a winner on every level.

@matthewking7571

This really isn't complicated. Shedeur was never really touted as a franchise changing prospect. He didn't work with any teams, really, he has been difficult for teams too gauge. He didn't have much pro level comp, threw a lot of screens, didn't have eye popping tape, doesn't have exceptional physical tools. Plus the way him and his dad are presenting themselves just isn't very good for pro locker rooms. He can be a good level starting guy, absolutely. But he can also come in, underpreform, and cause issues. He could even be a backup, and cause a media circus. This may simply be a case of talent not being as big as the personality. There could be more, but that's speculation at this point. It literally just could be teams don't think he's that good. These teams have their own draft experts, and it could be the media pushing for teams to draft him above his talent
