I think the sort of person who calls JJ a "leftie" is maybe not really someone with a robust political consciousness. I'm a double JJ and Big Joel subscriber and over on his post I was rather shocked about where this conversation ended up going, especially as someone who never actually listened to Fuentes before and heard him in those clips just being openly extremely racist, and the idea that this other guy "didn't know" what Fuentes beliefs were was rather disengenous and made me doubt the reality of his "centrist" positions. edit: Oh and cause you asked if you should do stuff like this, I'm sort of just like, whatever if that is how you want to spend your time. I don't think it adds much to the world. (though, more talking to Big Joel, I Big Support that)

I appreciate you having these conversations. Often people involved in fringe politics derive a great deal of confidence from the fact that no one debates them, thinking that their points are irrefutable, when in reality they are just too small for a lot of people to spend time on. So it's good for people to see that these ideas can't withstand scrutiny.

I’m glad you did it. I think it was a rough watch, this is probably the worst hill Paul has tried to die on so far - but that makes it all the more important for a moderate voice of reason like yours to be present. I think you do a good job bringing people with more extreme views than your own to a more sensible place, without coming off as forceful.

I find it fascinating how JJ, the person with the sanest, fact-based, mainstream politics with normal people takes (I mean this positively) seems to be so drawn to the "freakazoid", very online politics of people like PF Jung or Jreg. I greatly appreciate it because it's very nice to have someone with enough of a factual lay of the land to know why freakazoid conspiratorial politics fails instead of it being a chronically online circlejerk

I think you're too trusting and expect other people to be as genuine as you are in their pursuits. This guy is clearly a grifter and I wouldn't be surprised if he's just using you as a rock to climb on so his slop channel gets bigger. I wouldn't touch this guy with a mile long pole

Okay I made it 1/3 of the way through and cannot take any more of the PF guy. This is the first and hopefully last time I see or hear him. The problem Big Joel got into was always responding to PF asinine requests to explain simple concepts like Holocaust denial or dumb hypotheticals of whether or not a racist could be a good person. It was like an angry teenager arguing for just the sake of arguing instead of having any sort of good intentions for an intelligent discussion.

PF Jung when someone says “I’m not racist, but…”: ‘Well that was a horrible thing to say. But at least they’re not racist!’

You and Joel did a pretty good job. But PF Jung is… idk, beware the midwit, JJ

You should do a debate with Tor’s Cabinet of Curiosities about the merits of Wikipedia.

Joel was trying his absolute best to give Paul the benefit of the doubt and argue in good faith. But then PF kept changing his argument and kept getting worse and worse. His whole argument went from "Nick's racism and antisemitism aren't that bad because he is changing the right's mind on Israel" to "Nick Fuentes isn't racist or antisemitic, and he has some good points but trust me I'm not a racist, bro". Paul seems like he's in the anti-Israel leftist to far-right anti-Semite grifter pipeline.

I think that you essentially participated in an intervention to stop this guy from radicalizing himself, a great public service, but a painful watch, just as any intervention is, I suppose.

Yeah, as much as I’ve enjoyed the Paul <> JJ conversations, I think it’s safe to say that those are a thing of the past after this conversation. I’d be very weary of continuing to associate with someone so willing to flirt with the ideas that Paul is.

I’m sorry you had to try and do a denazifying intervention with your friend here, but PF is painful to listen to. Like I’ve never seen someone so clearly radicalized by far right debate bro propaganda. That said I think you did a fair job here.

More big Joel talks, less pf jung please! I think a JJ-pf jung hiatus might be in order That video was bizarre?!? Paul was completely incoherent.

Gotta be honest not always a fan but you did a pretty good job as a moderator in that debate

Whatever your stance on Israel and Palestine is, I think that most of us can agree that it's absolutely psychotic to suggest that all forms of anti-Israel speech are the same and that they all need to be platformed equally in order to fight the genocide in Gaza, even ones that are anti-Israel for explicitly antisemitic reasons rather than humanitarian reasons. I can't imagine much that could damage the Palestinian cause more than applying that particular mentality to spreading it.

Both you and big Joel are too intelligent to talk to this guy. I think you need to either be more aggressive in pushing back on what he is saying or not talk to people like this. This guy is participating in moderating racism. Racism is extreme, it should be dealt with appropriately. Please reflect on if you want to be associated with people like this

If you like, you can watch this rather strange... conversation about the awful political commentator Nick Fuentes between myself, PF Jung, and @BigJoel. Let me know your thoughts about even doing this.
