This post is addressing the reasons as to why I rebranded my channel. If you're apart of Max's server, y'all probably already know I was making this post. CaseOh (not the actual one, just some discord dude), asked me why I rebranded, and I figured more people probably wanted to know why I even rebranded in the first place.
Before I start, I gotta thank ‪@bradey5474‬ and ‪@KLUBDEAD‬, for digging the rebrand. If you don't like, or hate the rebrand, then that's perfectly fine with me. This was just something I needed to do. I'll go more in depth about that later.
When I first started posting, I made the decision that my now old PFP and banner will be temporary, so it was inevitably gonna change at some point. (As of now, my current banner is temporary and that will be changed probably by tomorrow or the day after).
The first reason for that, is simply me just wanting to be as original as possible. I wanna be able to stand out in the best way possible, and I figured the rebrand would do just that.
The second reason does tie in to the first one a bit, but I basically wanna avoid confusion with ‪@DeadMeatShorts‬. I know probably none of y'all were confused that we had almost identical names. I just basically had the word "fan" in mine. However I wanna grow my own identity on YouTube, and not tie it in to someone else (probably could word this better but idc), and there's something my brother told me earlier today that kind of stuck with me. He basically said "When people search Dead Meat Shorts' name in the search bar, my name will come up" That did stick with me, but for the wrong reasons. It further gave me reasons to rebrand the channel.
1: Pretty sure that people check out someone's new video or whatever, with the subscription feed, rather than the search bar.
2: Like I said before, I don't wanna be that guy that "got popular cuz he basically had DMS' name", and also like I said before, I wanna grow with as much of an original identity as possible.
3: I also don't wanna get famous, if someone ends up typing DMS' name in there, because they'll probably say "Oh I found your channel cuz of DMS". I don't wanna be that kind of guy. It does depend on what people say. At the end of the day, I can't control what people think about me, or what I do. I might change my mind about this. I'm letting y'all know about that now, so I don't get called a "hypocrite" or whatever later on.
Those are the reasons for the rebrand and why I didn't wanna be tied to Dead Meat Shorts. I originally thought the DMS part, was quite minor, but figured it was a much bigger deal while writing the post.
