Something about a Four Four Two… 1970 is my favorite year but my pops had a 1966 with the 400/4speed/dual exhaust I was young so a main memory is “don’t lock the door!” He didn’t have a door key for it. 😎

Congrats on 400! I had a 72 Caprice with the 400 small block. Great motor and a very smooth rig. Keep it going DF!

I am so glad to see not only an oldsmobile engine, but the Olds 400 rocket. Almost no one I know knows that they made a 400 and only know about the 455 from 1968 and onward

My buddy had a 1971 4+4 Pontiac with a 400 engine. That ride was fast and a cool ride.🏁

I love the Wild Cat Buick! My first car was a 67 Rivera 430-4 with bucket seats and a counsel. Thin wall cast blocks made them lighter than most.

My little brother @hedge12 had a 1971 Pontiac Firebird with the Pontiac 400. It really woke up with simple (but typically very difficult!) headers, along with an Accel Super Coil and some slapper bars to help with wheel hop. We painted it John Deere RED, not green, and blacked it out. For 1987-88, it looked good. For a couple of young single guys on a farm in Kansas, anyway... 🙄 Lots of fun

A bunch of 400 engines for 400k subs! They only allow 5 pics but there are way more 400 engines Olds big-bore 400, Olds small-bore 400, Buick (and the 401 nailhead was advertised as a 400 at first), Pontiac, Mopar, Ford, and the AMC 401 that was sold as a 400 in IH trucks! Of course there’s the Chevy 400 small-block 400 and the big-block 402 that was sold as a 400 in some applications.
