FIFTY FIFTY's Keena Halts Promotions—Not Just Health Issues, But Lingering Trauma from Ahn Sung-il
Keena, a member of girl group FIFTY FIFTY, has temporarily halted promotions for the group’s latest comeback. While it was officially cited as a health-related issue, sources reveal the real reason stems from lingering trauma tied to Ahn Sung-il.
FIFTY FIFTY returned on April 29 with their third mini album, Day & Night. But the comeback faltered from the start. Keena was unable to join the group’s debut stage, raising concerns.
This comeback had particular significance for Keena. As the eldest member, she played a leading role in preparing the album. However, everything changed on April 15, following a face-to-face cross-examination with Ahn Sung-il.
On August 26 of last year, Keena filed criminal charges against Ahn for forgery and use of forged documents. He allegedly altered her signature without consent and assigned her only 0.5% of the copyright to the hit song Cupid.
The Gangnam Police held a confrontation between the two during Ahn’s investigation, following Keena’s request. Accompanied by her lawyer, Keena underwent two hours of cross-examination.
However, the encounter proved too much. Following the interrogation, Keena suffered a mental breakdown—experiencing vomiting, auditory hallucinations, insomnia, and eating disorders. She reported her condition to her agency, which ultimately decided to suspend her activities.
Keena is currently focused on recovering her health. If her condition improves, she may rejoin the group later this month. Meanwhile, FIFTY FIFTY is expected to continue promotions through the end of May.
