I remember when everyone was obsessed with Pokémon, yet no one knew how to play it 😅. I even thought they were just collectibles rather than a TC

As a 2000s kid, I remember it was always a massive debate between Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh. I always sided with Pokémon (Yu-Gi-Oh kinda scared and confused me as a kid), though I do hold a lot more respect for Yu-Gi-Oh these days. Also, Magic for creating the modern idea of a TCG and directly inspiring Yu-Gi-Oh in the first place.

I haven't played it in ages but Pokemon is such a nostalgic game for me. I still have an old binder of my cards, some decently rare ones in there too. I have so many good memories with them too.

Pokemon is a better game, the rules are actually a lot simpler than Yu-Gi-Oh, but Yu-Gi-Oh has such an amazing aesthetic and the anime was pretty fire. It's a massive tie between those for me.

Well, I remember in 2001 there was also the Harry Potter TCG and Digimon digi-battle Card Game. And they were very nice 👍

I tried getting into Magic with a friend, but I always had to borrow his decks and never really got to experience it naturally, meaning I was playing an experienced player using his own deck, while using a deck he is already familiar and having an unfair advantage. No real chance to deckbuild or do my own thing. I never even got to play Pokemon, despite collecting the cards a lot, because my grandma and my super young self could not find the rules online for the life of us. Yugioh, on the other hand, gave me access to things like Duel Links and Legacy of the Duelist, giving me the tools to not only learn the game, understand it, and build my own deck and playstyle, but also have a game I actually enjoyed playing for once. Pretty obvious pick from my own experience.

Can't choose; played Pokemon with my family, Magic with some old friends, and Yu-Gi-Oh with some weird friends, of whom I still have fond memories

I loved my old pokemon cards (only played with them using home rules cus I didn't know how to play + only used the TCG on pc once or twice) though gave them all away to my cousin's son as I couldn't even get 1kr per card and I had 500ish though at least he was super excited about it I was introduced to MTG last or prior year and I'm having so much fun with it! So in my childhood's heart it would be pokemon whereas now it's MTG 🙂

Pokémon was the game everybody in my class except for one person (me) was into. I guess I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. I thought its popularity meant the end of civilization as we knew it! (I was 8 years old at the time I was believing that lie, but it was a lie I told to myself.)

Mine is non of the above, but it is Cardfight!! Vanguard. I love the lore, the gameplay, the anime, and the lesson learned. I tend to return with new style of deck every time I tried to quit. I played in Thai server and they're on D-BT01 right now. Last time on V I've played the exclusive thai server (Jod pad rew) deck, but right now I play prison deck (waiting for purelight meta). Aiming for drajewel and lianorn deck in the future (while secretly upgrade my prison deck) 😉

I never played Magic, but I remember it was a really big deal back when I was in high-school in the mid-90s & I'd watch the other kids play ita lott. Somehow, I managed to miss Pokémon & never even heard of Yu-Gi-Oh until I got grown & started watching anime.

So as a manga reader,I think you can add trading cards based on anime and manga will do it for the future.
