I think ultimately in comes down to tariffs increase costs on everyday goods and consumers “scoffing” at costs - thus choosing not to make the purchase. Prices going beyond the perception of value leads to a reduction in spending on a large scale. Reduction of consumer spending slows down the economy which naturally will have short term economic pain- but it’s an injury that has chronic consequences. It’s like having a knee replaced, sure you’ll be back on your feet soon, but you ain’t playing baseball anymore 😀. Either way, we’ll figure it out

As some one who sales both freight brokerage and international ocean and air for Maersk, some impact will be felt but more so on the eastern to western ocean container shipments vs domestic truck brokerage
