HeyThere

TLDR: my beloved cat Stitch has fluid around his lungs and needs a surgery to place a drainage tube.

I need assistance for my 14 year old cat, Stitch.

He went to the local (rural) vet 2 days ago and they did an X-ray determining he has plural effusion (fluid around his lungs) that is squishing his lungs and making it difficult to breathe.

He told me that it could be caused by a multitude of things such as an infection, heart disease, trauma (unlikely) and some others I don’t recall. He said he could live another 5 years even with heart disease if I can get the fluid drained.

He gave Stitch a covenia (antibiotic) shot and referred me to a specialist. We got stitch into the specialist today. Mountain West Veterinary Specialists in Layton Utah. His name is Stitch, and my name is Heather Brown, if you’d like to call in a donation. They are a 24 vet.

I volunteer for a local rescue organization right now, and have 4 cats of my own and 5 fosters. I try to do for my fosters as much as I can afford as the rescue is in a lot of debt (Stitch is my own, just explaining where a lot of my money goes).

I know he’s old. I know there’s lots of other cats in precarious situations right now, but I love my boy.
