As an infant, George was rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and through the Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA), JGI's Tchimpounga Sanctuary happily received George into its care. Caregivers quickly provided George essential veterinary support and - one of the most important remedies: Love. Fortunately, he was in good health and soon George was able to be integrated with chimpanzees close to his age. Today George is best friends with another fan favorite, Kabi, and loves exploring the local forest in Tchimpounga Nature Reserve with his friends.
