I love the narration, as it allows me to sometimes just listen and not have to read along while I work. Your story is an inspiration and brings me happiness, as those like you and others who appreciate freedom are part of the reasons I served as a Marine. Thanks for sharing! π

AI voice technology has been rapidly improving, and can be very helpful, but it still lacks a certain human quality. If you still donβt feel comfortable with your own English skill it makes sense to continue using technology temporarily.

The AI narration is good and I like that it's based on your own voice but I would be just as happy to hear you speaking Korean with English and Korean subtitles. Korean subtitles are important because it allows Korean people with impaired hearing to hear your important words. Did your mother teach you English as you were growing up? I'd like to hear more about what life was like in North Korea. You're a lovely person and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness with your husband.

Maybe you should refer this subscriber to your first video and my comment about your English being well spoken. In your reply you give the reason why you use AI narration. I don't know if this subscriber is new to supporting North Koreans, subscribes to other channels of free North Koreans or works with or supports NGO's that help North Koreans. I have and still do and also show my support on their social media and personally. Maybe this person doesn't know how hard it is to learn a new Korean language mixed with Konglish words. This subscriber may have a point, but I think it is misguided and does not understand what you are trying to do with your videos. I think your videos are just fine the way they are and keep up the good work. You have my full and 100% support.

I will say as someone with dyslexia, I find it much more enjoyable because I feel like I can actually pay attention to the video without worrying that I am going to miss something in the text. I find the life's and cultures of those that differ from my own very interesting, but sometimes i can't keep up with subtitles and the visuals That being said, if it should really be about your own comfort. You can't cater to EVERYONE. You are allowing people into your story; something personal. You should do whichever way you feel comfortable sharing your story in.

I do love listening to the one telling me something, and if I can't understand their language, then have subtitles on. AI automatic audio feels "unnatural" and too often gets it completely wrong and doesn't really translate what they're saying. But since there could be people preferring that option, the best solution to me would be to be able to choose (original audio or translated audio) and then activate subtitles on/off depending on what each viewer prefers π My native language is Spanish, but I strongly prefer English subtitles or even audio if it's not going to be "real Spanish" (and too often it isn't) π€¦πΌββοΈπ Also, I've been trying to learn a bit of korean and I'm able to read it, so sometimes I really want to be able to put korean subtitles, to check how it'd be said π€ Also, I'd strongly prefer listening to you in korean with English+Korean subtitles, much more than English (if it doesn't feel natural or comfortable to you), and of course much more than Spanish AI translation π Bless

I think you speaking in Korean with English subtitles would make your videos more personable. AI generated voice in English does not convey your emotions with the words in your script. People would connect more with you as a person rather than just listening to an AI generated voice over a video. In the future if you decide to learn English as a second language you can try speaking some English in your videos. Looking forward to watching more videos of your journey.

Hanaya
Everyone, please help! π
(An important decision for the channel)
Hello everyone, this is Hana.
Every video on the hanaya channel is made with the sincere desire to share my life story with you.
To convey that feeling without language barriers, I've been experimenting with an AI English narration based on my own voice. This process also requires a lot of effort, but I've always been curious about whether my true feelings are being delivered well.
Recently, a subscriber gave the valuable feedback that 'the AI voice harms the story's authenticity.' This comment made me seriously wonder if many others feel the same way, or if there might be even better methods to explore.
So, I would like to respectfully ask for your opinion and discuss this together.
What do you think is the best way to deliver my story? Please let me know your honest thoughts by participating in the poll below. Each and every one of your votes will shape the future of the hanaya channel.
[POLL] What do you think is the most effective way for me to deliver my story?
