Did you know Japanese shrines and temples were built without using a single screw or nail? 🪵✨
This incredible craftsmanship, mastered by traditional miyadaiku carpenters, is the inspiration behind The Craftsman Bangle, a limited-edition collaboration between renowned French jewelry brand Louis Faglin and Anton in Japan, merging Japanese joinery and French guilloché engraving. 🏛️💍
The bangle features the kanawa-tsugi pattern, an intricate joinery technique that I’ve fallen in love with during my akiya renovations 🔨 In my next project—Sangenjaya Villa (TBA)—we’ve purposely incorporated visible kanawa-tsugi joinery throughout the design, making it a central feature of the build over the past few weeks (We failed a few times making them already..) 🏡📐
Each bangle comes in a stunning 100% organic hinoki wood box, crafted by Oohashi Ryouki, Japan’s oldest sake cup manufacturer. 🌳🎁 Available in gold and silver, this piece pays homage to timeless craftsmanship. Available Online & at the major Japanese department stores alongside Louis Faglin’s stunning collections.
A huge thank you to and everyone who joined us yesterday at the launch and of course to Louis Faglin for the opportunity, celebrating their 125 years of history! 🎉🙏
