Not going to lie, the humans in All Monsters Attack had more personality than Super Monster.

While All Monsters Attack is easily one of the worst Godzilla movies ever, I will say it has more merit to it than Gamera Super Monster. Though it also reuses a lot of footage from previous Godzilla movies, it at least has more than a few minutes of new footage and a new monster. It also has something that I don’t think a lot of people give it credit for; perspective. Even though some people find the real world segments with Ichiro tedious, I personally find them kind of fascinating. Whether it was intentional or not, I interpret those scenes as a glimpse into 1960s industrial Japan. Seeing how a child navigates it, the ramifications it had on society for children, adults, and even the entire family dynamic… it’s a unique experience I’m grateful to have the chance to see. Doesn’t mean I’m going to go watch the movie every Sunday, but it makes watching it easier.

All monsters attack, maybe because it has more of a message, and there's actually a new Kaiju. I don't even hat Super Monster that much. It's fine for what it was, Daiei's last ditch effort to stay afloat. But All monsters attack is just better imo.

I’d say Gamera Super Monster for this one. Don’t get me wrong even I like All Monsters Attack to an extent but I really liked the superhero aesthetic and even though both films use old film for the fights I liked how they used most of the old Gamera fights for the film. It kinda made it seem like a whole Gamera recap. Both are pretty entertaining story wise but I enjoy Gamera Super Monster more.
