codysennpaintings

With this new Kendrick piece, I wanted to pull together everything I’ve been chasing in my work—every technique, every instinct, every lesson learned in the last few years. Rough, searching sketches clash with spray-painted Old English stencils, the raw undercanvas bleeding through like something unfinished, something alive. And then there’s the gold leaf crown—luminous, untouchable, hovering like a halo or a heavy weight.

But at the center, it’s all about the gaze. Fixed. Unshaken. Staring straight through you, peeling you apart. The eyes—glazed in deep crimson—almost hidden, only revealing themselves when the light decides to let them. There but not there. Like a whisper in an empty room, a presence you can’t name but can feel.
