Which brand of peanut butter is what comes to mind as the standard baseline peanut butter? Not your favorite, but the one you think of first. This is for a very important study and by that I mean it was a random thought I had on Friday.

Jif, then Skippy, and never would I remember Peter Pan unless I looked right at it.

I just think of peanut butter as peanut butter, brand doesn't come to mind

That's so funny. I remember Jif from the commercials but Peter Pan was a staple in my household growing up so it always stuck with me. I forgot about Skippy until I looked at the options.

Calvé. Never heard of any of these other brands.

When I think of Peter Pan, I can only think of that recall during the 2000's.

Jif it's what most store brands try to emulate (or made in the same factory) as well.

@G0rgar

Jif for sure, but I don't buy any of that stuff anymore. Give me peanuts and nothing else.

@Nick_Slavik

I'm gonna say Jif, only because we don't have Peter Pan or Skippy here in Canada (at least I haven't seen Skippy or Peter Pan in my part of Canada), I hear peanut butter and my first thought is Kraft

As a kid Jif tasted the best out of those, but I feel like Skippy was more ubiquitous.

@GreaseBIizzard

Mix of Jif and Skippy. Primarily Jif, but for some reason even though I forget pretty much everything else, I still remember a story my grandpa told me when he was a kid about a pet butterfly he had named Skippy that he kept in a peanut butter jar.

for me it's literally Wegmans store brand and then Peter Pan is when I want a nicer peanut butter for baking, but of these options I think Jif is the default peanut butter. since moving to Australia it seems like our default brand is Bega though.

Peter Pan is what I grew up on eating, and even then good old Jif is what comes to mind.

I have never seen Peter Pan peanut butter in person. I never even heard of it until about a year or two ago.

Choosy Moms choose jif. 👧🏽 But seriously, jif always comes to mind for peanut butter because it's always been the brand my family bought for years and it's the one I vaguely remember commercial slogans for. It's like how chips ahoy is the first thing that comes to mind for choclate chip cookies. Though I'm sure peter pan and skippy probably taste the same lo

Gotta love Skippy.

The cashiers at the store made a joke about my non-processed peanut butter that I bought (the one with just peanuts and salt). I made my own after that day of infamy

I don't care for peanut butter myself, but as a Canadian, Kraft brand is usually the first to come to mind.
