I wanna film a video reacting to your hot takes on books. Can I get some hot takes? The spicier the better.

- not everything has to be an epic saga - standalones are fine!

Brandon Sanderson needs to realize we're not kids!

@dandrum1ify

Not every author has to have a universe (For example, Sanderson with the Cosmere, King with The Dark Tower, and yes, even Erikson/ Esslemont with Malazan)

It’s okay to not enjoy the classics; some of them have objectively aged badly and don’t hold up when compared to modern literature.

Name of the Wind is the BEST fantasy novel to come out since 2007!!

There are other (and more interesting ways) to tell a characters journey than by giving them a character arc with obstacle -> solution. Authors who don't know how one can wholly flesh out characters without using writing tools like that are average at best.

Wear and tear of books and cracked spines are good. They show books were read and loved. And they are meant to be read, not preserved. I don’t get people who go through all this trouble to make sure their books look brand new like they’re still in the bookstore shelves.

It’s ok to read the book equivalent of a soap opera. Not everything needs to be a moving, thought provoking work of literary art.

Lord of the rings should be listened to on audio with the Andy Serkis narration exclusively and from now forever on

I’m a little late but would have remarked how it’s everything ok if you may have a tricky time comprehending (at points or even as a whole) particular classics. LOTR for example.

Unlike most people who have read I am Legend, I hated the main character. He was whiny, highly dramatic, and he couldn't control his libido. I love the post apocalyptic genre, it's my favorite genre by far. Yet, I do not see how anyone can enjoy the character of Robert Neville. Not to mention that the vampires are weak and boring. I rate the novel 3/10

Genre division is bad for imagination and the industry in general. Sub-catting puts authors and readers in boxes

Brandon Sanderson needs to stop repeating stuff because he wrote it 5 times in the previous chapters.

I can only provide a hot take if you give me some of your favorite books or authors. I am fairly new to your channel and enjoy the videos you create.

Man in the high castle is one of the biggest misses in all of literature. Talk about an amazing premise that PKD smoked away and did absolutely NOTHING with. What a waste. Not worth reading.

You should lone your books out, we wanna infect more people with the desire to read. (Unless you have an expense special edition, only lone those to trusted friends)
