It's been a long time since I mentioned anything related to The Get Along Gang. For those who don't know, there is a weekly comic run of GAG that Marvel published from 1985-1987 exclusively in the United Kingdom. The series lasted for 93 issues before merging with Marvel's UK Care Bears series. Unfortunately, aside from a few annuals, the issues themselves are barely accessible online. Not only that, but importing them can be fairly pricey.
After being disappointed with DIC's Get Along Gang cartoon, I soon found out about these comics and made a goal to one day collect all 93 issues so I can get them archived. Last year, I bought two lots containing various issues. It's not the complete series, as I currently have 84 of the series' 93. But the fact that I now own about 90% of the UK comic series is better than nothing.
Aside from importing, the real struggle was getting them scanned as I don't have a scanner at home. I once went to OfficeMax and paid a fee to scan the first issue (you can view it on Internet Archive). However, I knew it would cost a lot to scan all 84 issues that way. I almost considered offering donations. However, one of the classes I'm finishing up this semester had a scanner that my teacher was very kind enough to let me use. So I spent most of the semester during free time scanning all the UK GAG comics I currently have. I even rescanned the first issue, so it'll be much higher quality than the old scan from OfficeMax. About 76% of my collection has already been scanned and ready for release. I hope to get them all scanned by the end of the semester.
As for the issues I'm currently missing. I am missing issues 19, 23, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 46, and 49. I'm also looking for a better copy of issue 51 since mine has portions of pages cut out. If anyone has these particular issues, and are interested in either selling them to me or scanning them for me, please email me for further negotiations.
I'll keep everyone up to date for further progress, as well as a potential release for those UK Get Along Gang comics in the near future.
