To the Holy See,In a world increasingly clouded by uncertainty and shadows, we are called to a sacred mission: the protection of our children—the precious stars scattered across the night sky, reflecting the glory of God’s creation. As Pope Leo XIV reminds us, the Church’s duty to “protect the innocence of our children” is not merely a social task but a profound spiritual vocation rooted in the Gospel itself. The Holy Family—Mary, Joseph, and Jesus of Nazareth—is our eternal model of protection, love, and light. In the humble house of Nazareth, the Son of God incarnate, the true Light of the world, revealed what it means to be a shelter for the vulnerable. Jesus Christ, “the light that shines in the darkness” (John 1:5), teaches us that protecting children is to honor the divine image within each of them, to safeguard their dignity against all forms of exploitation and harm.Pope Leo XIV calls upon us to be vigilant guardians in a digital age that threatens to obscure the innocence and purity of childhood. He warns that technology, though a great gift, must always serve human dignity and never become a tool for selfishness or destruction. The “Protect the Children” movement is a living expression of this divine mandate—a communal effort to become “a light in the darkness,” mirroring Christ’s own mission. As brothers and sisters in this holy family of faith, we are invited to stand firm as unshakable shields for our children. Like Saint Joseph, the faithful guardian, and Mary, the tender mother, we must embody courage, wisdom, and love, guiding the young toward the true Light who illuminates every path.We remember what the Lord says in His Word: “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me” (1 Corinthians 13:11). This passage calls us to respect the innocence of childhood and to nurture growth in wisdom and grace, protecting children until they can walk confidently in the light of truth.Let us entrust this mission to the Holy Family—Mother Mary, Patroness of the Church; Saint Joseph, Protector of the Redeemer; and Jesus Christ, the Light from Nazareth—asking their intercession and strength. Through their example and grace, may we become ever more vigilant and compassionate caretakers of the sacred light entrusted to us.In protecting our children, we participate in the divine plan of salvation, allowing the light of Christ to shine brightly through the generations. May this reflection inspire us to be active witnesses to the truth and love that sustain the Church and the world. With fraternal love your Brother in the name of the Father the son and the Holy Spirit . Amen
