Hey man! That must have been a tough choice to make. I'm glad you were able to make it though. Personal growth is only achieved through making hard decisions. Salty Shrimp Pasta
Hey gang, I hope your new year is going well! Take a seat I’m about to make it worse.
Tl;dr: Shrimpie needs a break, and not a “I’ll put off working on my stuff but constantly stress about when I’m going to get back to work” break like I did in 2023, I mean a REAL break.
Instead of dropping an essay, I’m going to list my reasons and address some big concerns below:
1.) Am I quitting: no, unless I decide that not coming back to the channel is what’s best for me.
2.) I have lost the ability to enjoy games unless I’m with friends. Another creator and friend of mine is in the exact same boat so we are choosing to step away from making content and just play games for fun again
3.) I want a life. I don’t want to spend every day behind my computer. I want the freedom to go to the gym, explore writing music again, and play games with friends whenever I want, and I cannot do that while stressing over how long it takes to get a single video done.
4.) I have two projects in active development that I want to finish, but they are not a priority.
So, when will I be back? The short answer is “whenever I don’t hate my favorite hobby anymore.” I want to love making videos again, so I need to give myself the space needed to recover from the toxic relationship I’ve developed with my channel, then come back with stronger boundaries to keep it from happening again.
That’s basically it. 2025 I going to be a FANTASTIC year for my life, but not for this channel.
